Arrival at Varna Airport. Transfer to your hotel in Varna. Check-in at the hotel. The rest of the day is yours for time at leisure. Optional dinner at the hotel. Overnight in Varna.
DAY 2 |
Breakfast. City sightseeing tour of Varna – the cathedral of the Assumption of the Virgin, Archaeological Museum, Roman Thermae, Sea Garden, National Naval Museum, etc. Free afternoon for time at leisure. Optional dinner at traditional Bulgarian restaurant in Varna with folklore program. Overnight in Varna.
DAY 3 |
Breakfast. One-day tour to Nessebar and Sunny Beach. Transfer to Nessebar. Guided tour of the ancient town with millennia old history, situated on a romantic rocky peninsula, connected to the mainland via narrow isthmus. Valuable monuments from all stages of its long existence are preserved here: remnants of fortress walls from the Roman times and the Middle Ages, old Byzantine and Bulgarian churches, traditional 18th and 19th century houses. Visit of the famous sea resort Sunny Beach. Drive back to Varna. Optional dinner at the hotel. Overnight in Varna.
DAY 4 |
Breakfast. Drive to Balchik – a small coastal town on the Black Sea. Visit to the Palace of Romanian Queen Mary - famous as the Quiet Nest. This complex has been constructed by orders of the excentric Romanian queen combining European, Balkan and Oriental motives. Free time at Balchik Botanical gardens – among the largest in Bulgaria they are famous for the second largest collection of cacti in Europe. Departure for Romania. Arrival in Bucharest in the evening. Check-in and optional dinner at the hotel. Overnight in Bucharest.
DAY 5 |
Breakfast. Guided sightseeing tour in the historic center of Bucharest: Palace of Romanian Parliament (House of People), Unirii Square, Romanian Patriarchy, Old Court, Stavropoleos Monastery, Lipscani Street, Calea Victoriei. Free time at leisure, or optional tour to the Ceausescu House and the museum of the Romanian village “Dimitrie Gusti” (tour duration – approx. 5 hours). Visit to the former residence of Romanian communist leader Nicolae Ceausescu – huge villa with 80 rooms, private residence of the family. From here we continue to the Museum of the Romanian village. This wonderful open-air museum represents hundreds of original houses and churches from all the territory of Romania, giving you a great introduction to Romanian culture and traditions. Optional dinner at traditional Romanian restaurant. Overnight in Bucharest.
DAY 6 |
Breakfast. Check-out. Transfer to Bucharest Airport and departure.
