The city of Nessebar, called often “The Pearl of the Black Sea” is located near the most attractive Bulgarian sea resorts Sunny Beach. The city attracts with its history and archaeological sites. Most of the old churches are now galleries or museums. The city is also included in the list of UNESCO since 1983. The Old town of Nessebar once located on an island had a big importance during Byzantines rule. Nowadays this island is turned into a peninsula by a man-made isthmus which connects it to the mainland side.
